zambia + uruguay + syria

last friday, my sister in law took her citizenship exam and passed.  they told her to come back at 12:45 for the official ceremony.  my brother had to go back to work so she called me to come down.  it was one of the neatest things i've been to.  there were people from all over the world and all ages.  some looked like they had a tale to tell and all of them looked really proud.  families and friends gathered to celebrate.  i sat in the back between hendrix and my 1 year old nephew, killian.  it was a great place to be on a hot friday afternoon.  i watched the families look on proudly and the new citizens stand a little taller.  i listened to the countries of origin being called out.  saw the citizens receive their certificates.  afterwards, magali, the boys, and i celebrated with some ice cream.  it doesn't get any more american than that.   congratulations, magali!!
