i have been working in the food service industry as a server (or the like) for 12 years. TWELVE years. sweet lord jesus christ. these 12 years afforded me some great times, a way to pay the bills, endless networking possibilities, and opened the door to clementine's produce and provisions. but i gotta be honest. . .i am so damn happy that the era is over. mike got a great job offer. a job that is really his dream job. this job will afford us some really great opportunities and security. something we haven't had in awhile. mike will get to showcase his knowledge and skill. he will be able to put the degrees he worked for to use and have them be worth paying for. and i will be able to be a full time farmer and momma. no more waitressing.
i will miss the people i worked with, though. and even some of my regulars. most of my greatest friends in my adult life have come from being a server. so to all my server buddies. . . CHEERS! i love ya! xoxo

i will be clearing the old corn crib land today with the interns. yes, in this godforsaken weather. still better than waitressing. and i get to go to mom's happy hours afterwards.
